Funding available for permanent supportive housing deadline extended to May 21

STATEWIDE - Nonprofit organizations wanting to develop permanent supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness or with disabilities can now apply for $1 million in federal funding through the Delaware State Housing Authority.

Projects should serve people who are experiencing homelessness; who are experiencing homelessness and mental health or substance abuse issues; or who have disabilities, particularly people who are at high risk of homelessness or institutionalization. They must provide long-term housing with supportive services, allowing residents to live as independently as possible.

Loan funding comes from both the National Housing Trust Fund and the HOME Investments Partnership Program, both federal funds administered by DSHA.

How to apply: Applicants must be 501(C)(3) nonprofit developers and complete an application available at destatehousing.com. Applications are due by 4 p.m.May 21. Find applications at http://destatehousing.com/developers/dv_nhtf.php.
