Rotary Club of Durango to hear about Southwest Rides

The Rotary Club of Durango will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Strater Hotel, 699 Main Ave.

Jason Armstrong, Southwest Center for Independence assistant director, will speak to the club about the Southwest Rides program, which provides seniors and disabled community members with transportation for medical appointments, grocery shopping and more.

Armstrong, who is the current vice chairman on the A Safe Place Board of Directors in Pagosa Springs, has worked for nonprofits for 20 years and volunteered at Durango Homeless Coalition and served on the Community Connections Human Rights Committee.

The meeting is free and open to all.
