Medicare, health care meetings this month at Millbury Senior Center

MILLBURY ? The Council on Aging office and the Senior Center will be closed on Monday, Oct. 12 for Columbus Day. There will be no transportation or Meals on Wheels that day.

Come and join us for lunch Monday through Friday at noon. Just call 48 hours in advance for a reservation. If you would like a menu call and we will mail you one.

Sen. Mike Moore will be at the Senior Center on Monday, Oct. 19 at 10:30 a.m. for office hours.

Stay well clinic is offered every Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. Weekly blood pressure clinic is very important to staying healthy. You are encouraged to come weekly or least once a monthly. This clinic is also offered the on the first two Wednesday evenings of the month from 5:30-6:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to these clinics.

Our craft store is open daily during our regular hours and we have many new items. Still only $5, our famous jams are great gifts. We have three varieties for diabetics.

Our annual craft fair will be held Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. If you are interested in renting a table please call the Senior Center at 508-865-9154. We are also looking for workers and bakers, please sign up at the front desk. We will be serving homemade chicken soup, hot dogs and homemade baked goods, coffee and cold drinks. We will be offering to-go items also. This year we will be offering a gift area with all new items.

Save this date: There will be a Medicare update meeting on Friday, Oct. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Senior Center. The is being offered by the Central Mass. SHINE program. Please call for a reservation. This is an important meeting if you have questions regarding your supplemental insurance.

A representative from Fallon Community Health Care will be at the Senior Center on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. Please call to reserve a space for this meeting. It's very important that you review your current supplemental insurance to make sure you have the proper coverage you need. Asking questions is very important, be informed.

Halloween Costume Party: Friday, Oct. 30 at noon. Wear your best costume, play games and win prizes.

Lake George Trip: Thursday, Oct. 15, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Cruise and lunch buffet, cost $69 per person.
